I attended WMA as a student in 2021 and consequently started working here from 2022 onwards. Worm and Jelinek were my Specialist Maths teachers and they were the reason I was able to perform so well! They both really know their stuff and provide the highest quality resources as well as plenty of CAS tricks which I literally used in the exam. As a tutor myself, I have worked very hard creating a Chemistry program which the students love! Even though I only see them 2 hours a week, they tell me they learn everything from me instead of their teachers which I find quite funny. I'm also running an advanced 3/4 methods class this year which has an expected median of 40+! With multiple on track for 45+! To finish, I would like to mention that all the tutors here are super kind and professional and all know their stuff. We all go above and beyond to run extra practice SACs frequently and always provide assistance with questions the best we can.

I am doing 3/4 Methods at WMA and the way we prepare ahead of school enables me to really consolidate my knowledge and the resources and explanations by Andrew are so so beneficial! Also I have completed 3/4 Chemistry with Pinak and found the classes to be really beneficial.Even though I've been going online, the classes were really well curated and he explains all the topics thoroughly!! What makes a good Maths teacher? Is it a teacher who doesn't make you do homework? A teacher who speaks in a monotone boring voice... and looks like they just want to go home? Of course it's not...

What subjects do you cover? 02

I cover all levels of Mathematics, with a major focus on VCE Mathematics.
I find that many of the brighter students in secondary schools are not adequately challenged, so I run advanced workshops, giving students an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding and be exposed to high levels of mathematics at a younger age. This allows these students to get ahead of others and in doing so, they perform better in VCE Mathematics

SPECIALIST MATHS

A VCE Mathematics subject focusing on Advanced Mathematics students who wish to continue on studying Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Engineering at University. Specialist Maths is one of the highest scaling subjects in VCE, with an average scaling of 11-12 points and a maximum score of 55/50.

Mathematical Methods

A VCE subject that is a prerequisite for many university courses, many of them stating you need a score in Methods that is greater than or equal to 25. (Generally scales up by 6 points)

Year 7-10 Maths

General content covered in year 7-10 Mathematics preparing you for VCE. Algebra, Exponentials, Equations, Graphing, Quadratics, Probability etc...
